Thermometer is in very good condition, showing excellent color & gloss throughout the field with an excellent can graphic and working Thermometer. Thermometer shows some minimal surface scratching in the field as well as some moderate scratching at the bottom right and upper right corners. The outer edge is in very good condition, showing only minimal age wear. An excellent displaying example of this colorful Service Station Thermometer. Condition: (8.5+). Dimensions: 25" X 10".

Sign shows very good color & gloss throughout the field showing a few minor areas of surface scratching as well as some minor age staining that should clean nicely. Sign shows some minor areas of paint loss along the outer raised edge as well as some light denting along the bottom but overall very clean. An excellent displaying example of this sign from Kendall Motor Oils. Condition: (8.5+). Dimensions: 72" x 12".

SST. A very nice example of this seldom seen Embossed Tin Sign from Goodyear Aviation Products. Sign shows excellent color & gloss throughout the field showing some minor areas of surface scratching but overall very clean. The outer edge shows some minor areas of scratching and paint loss with the heaviest areas of wear at the left and right die cut edge but overall clean. A very nice displaying rare Sign from Goodyear Aviation. Condition: (8.0+). Dimensions: 42" x 42".

An early brass fixed globe model with silvered reflector built into globe. "NAHUM STETSON" nicely copper wheel engraved in globe. Has embossed patent dates surrounding the silvered insert in the glass. A really cool lantern. Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: 12 - 3/4" x 7" x 7".

An early bronze locomotive builders plate from the Intercolonial Railway 4-6-0 road number 232. Would later become Canadian National Class I-3 #1529 in 1923 and scrapped in 1925. Plate has boiler curvature and shows damage at the bolt location in the border in the upper left-hand corner and some bolt removal damage in the center-top. An early Builder Plate from Manchester right before the formation of ALCO. Condition: (5.0). Dimensions: 12 - 3/4" x 12 - 3/4" x 3 - 1/4".

DST. Sign is Maker Marked M.C.A. An outstanding example of this Tin Sign from Quaker State Motor Oils. Sign is in New Old Condition and the stand is freshly assembled from its original packing boxes. Sign shows outstanding color & gloss throughout each side showing practically no wear whatsoever. The metal curb stand is also in outstanding condition showing excellent condition paint with no wear. Overall an outstanding example of this Tin Sign from Quaker State that could not be improved upon. Condition: (9.5+). Dimensions: 31 - 1/2" x 33 - 1/2" x 46 - 1/4".

A nice, as removed condition ALCO Builder Plate from Erie Railroad RS3 road number 927. Plate retains original paint. The matching plate from this engine is in the auction. Back of plate shows heavy scale and rust, bolt holes in good condition, original yellow paint is dirty and faded. Here's your chance to own a pair of desirable first generation diesel plate. DST. A very nice example of this Tin Wind Spinner Sign from Pure Motor Oils. Tin is in very good condition, showing excellent color & gloss throughout the field with only a few areas of surface scratching as well as some minor areas of staining. The Spinner is mounted on its original metal base and it is mounted to a larger wooden base that displays with the spinner well and allows it to spin nicely. Overall an excellent piece of three dimensional & figural advertising from Pure Motor Oils. Condition: (8.0). Dimensions: 16" x 16" x 16 - 1/2".

Sign shows excellent color & gloss throughout the field showing only a couple of faint surface scratches and paper markings as well as some factory made line defects on the convex portion. Thermometer shows an excellent condition graphic as well as field with some moderate paint wear along the bottom edge. The glass face as well as metal banded body are both in fair condition, Grade 8.25. Item two is a Goodyear Tires Tin Faced Advertising Thermometer for Albery Schlott Inc., Lawrence, Massachusetts. Tin face is in excellent condition and the glass face and metal band show only minimal wear, Grade 8.75. Each Thermometer is in working condition. A very nice paring of Service Station Thermometers. Complete Double Sided Embossed Plastic Light Up Display Sign from Edsel Service. Sign shows excellent color & gloss throughout each side and lights up beautifully showing excellent green lettering with white background. Sign shows a few minor areas of cracking along the outer edge as well as some chips in the edge of the plastic faces. Side one shows one minor chip at the top of the green circle and side two shows two minor chips at the top edge. The faces are mounted in the original stainless steel body that displays the faces nicely and also shows its original iron brackets at the head of the arrow for hanging. The third is an Adlake round top bridge lantern with circular Fresnel signal green lens, intact fount and burner, with some chipping on the ribs and radial crack, fair condition. Condition: (Good). The first is an early five curved spoke brake wheel, 18" in diameter, embossed on spoke "NYC" and a casting number that is not legible. Old flat black paint. The second is an early five curved spoke brake wheel, 24" in diameter, with three spokes cracked at the rim and the rim is separated between two of the cracked spokes. Condition: (Good). Dimensions: Larger: 23 - 1/2" x 23 - 1/2".

A standard New York Central platform sign, "South Bend". Gold leaf painted letters and border on black field. Good gloss. Sign has provisions for post mounting on back. One of the finest complete examples of this Esso Service Station Santa Claus Mailbox we have ever sold. This piece is complete with New Old Stock Mailbox with cardboard toppers as well as Tin Letter Board full of various envelops children could choose to mail to Santa. Mailbox is in outstanding condition showing excellent color & gloss throughout as well as the Tin Letter Board. Included with the Letter Board are thousands of graphic envelopes that display very well with great images. The cardboard Santa toppers are the only pieces that show some areas of wear to the but overall each display nicely. A very nice example of this Etched Glass Display Plaque for the 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Meistertour. Originally presented to a participant in the 1989 Porsche factory-sponsored Stuttgart to Rothenburg tour, this piece features a beautiful Porsche 911 etched in glass and is mounted on its original metal stand showing the dates of April 3-9th, 1989. The piece shows a few minor areas of surface scratching in the glass as well as some minor areas of staining and scratching in the metal base but overall excellent. An outstanding example of this unique and very well made piece of Porsche Motoring history. Condition: (8.5+). Dimensions: 23 - 3/4" x 12 - 1/2" x 5 - 3/4".

The second item is a heavy six-spoke valve wheel for a 1 - 1/4" square center shaft engagement. Rim is embossed "OPEN" with arrow pointing in counter-clockwise direction. Sign shows an excellent patina throughout the field showing hand painted lettering as well as a white painted background that has crackled and aged very well. The outer edge is also in very good condition, showing some minor paint loss as well as one chip in the wood at the upper left edge. This display is in New Old Stock condition and would be near impossible to improve upon. Each sign is in outstanding condition, showing excellent color & gloss throughout each sign showing outstanding colors and Coca Cola script. Each sign shows only a very faint amount of wear but practically impossible to improve upon. The metal racking is also in outstanding condition, and displays the signs well. Clock produced by Electric Time Company showing an excellent glass advertising face for A. Cresci & Son Trucking with three different Truck graphics. Advertising face is in excellent condition showing only minimal wear and the outer glass face and trim are also in excellent condition. The metal body shows some minor areas of wear but is in overall very nice condition and the clock lights up and works properly creating an excellent display. This looks to be an Ohio Lantern Co. piece with an unusual top and Adams & Westlake 1895 bayonet base. The RR letter marking is suspicious (resembles a known fake letter font from southwestern Ohio), embossed "CD&CRR" for the Cincinnati Dayton & Chicago RR. The clear No. 39 extended base globe is a bullseye type. OL Co lanterns usually aren't embossed with RR initials. Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: 11" x 6 - 1/4" x 6 - 1/4".

Sign shows very good condition hand painted lettering throughout as well as an outstanding patina to the wood body. The sign shows a large break near the center and goes across the body. The sign shows two braces in the back to display the sign properly but will need some adjustments to get to excellent displaying condition. Display Booth shows excellent color & gloss throughout the Tin sides, showing excellent AC lettering as well as Spark Plug graphic. A very unique piece of Metal Store Display advertising from Fisk Tires. Statue is made from metal and shows an excellent aged patina throughout with areas of crackling and paint wear throughout, as well as a couple of minor cracks and holes. The metal statue is missing the candle flame portion, and also included with the statue is the original rubber tire display. The statue is nicely mounted on a new wooden base and displays excellent. Sign shows fair color throughout the field with some moderate areas of fading in the blue & red porcelain but overall displaying well. A stunning example of the top lantern portion of a Blake's patent arm lantern. The base of this unit has been modified to include the former arm cuff portion of the counterweighted base component and includes the Blake's patent stamp. It was straightened to round and soldered to the bayonet fount cup. Missing is the counterweighted base normally found on this model. The brass wire globe guard is intact and needs to be resoldered. The globe is a stunning copper wheel engraved example with "Wm. Mitchell Conductor K & P R R" engraved inside of a floral and fern engraved cartouche. On the back opposite is an ornate engraving of an 1860s locomotive of the 4-4-0 wheel arrangement and a six-window passenger coach. A truly outstanding piece. Condition: (Good). Side one shows two nail holes at the top edge that show chipping around them as well as some minor chipping along the outer edge. Side two also shows excellent color & gloss throughout the field showing no chipping in the inner field and only two areas of chipping near the upper edge from nail holes. Box shows a full restoration throughout the internals and externals and when the brass handle on the face is turned clockwise a loud alarm bell rings. The interior is in excellent condition as well and displays nicely. The outside of the Alarm Box shows some minor paint wear near the bottom and how's nicely hand painted Cast lettering on the face. Box is mounted on a nicely painted fluted pole that is not original to the Alarm Box but displays the piece nicely. Overall an excellent example of early Cast Iron and an excellent displaying piece. This is probably a SG&L No. 3 model, but it is only hallmarked "3" under the bayonet base. The frame is mint, and suspected German silver construction as there is no sign of brass showing anywhere. The globe has exceptional engraving, with "J. S. O'Shea" copper wheel engraved in fancy old English font inside an unusually ornate flower and fern cartouche. There is additional ornate bison engraving on the back, with "N.Y." in old English font below, an obvious reference to Buffalo, NY. J. S. O'Shea was employed as an Agent of the Erie Railroad, appointed in 1906 as the Agent at Buffalo. Photographs of the lantern and an excerpt from 1900 Railway Age are included with this sale. Pennsylvania Railroad L1S 2-8-2 Mikado Builders Plate from the railroad's own Juniata Shops. Engine was constructed in November 1915 as PRR's road number 3276. The engine was sold for scrap in 1950. Back of plate has boiler scale and heavy tarnish, mounting bolt holes are in good condition. There are a few minor rim chips on the top and bottom edges. Lantern appears to have some solder repairs at the guard wire joints. Brass tag affixed to lid reflector has last patent date June 1871. Lantern looks to have been polished long ago, showing some tarnish, and was possibly nickel plated at one time, but with little evidence showing. Lid clasp works easily. Two unique vertically mounted signal lamps with three lenses. Inside each are two sets of cast aluminum lens holders holding red, yellow and green lenses. Forward-looking lenses are amber. One unit is cracked. Newly-made oil founts are present for each, but one does not fit the holder ring properly. Side lenses are clear, 5 - 3/4" diameter. Inside lens slide lenses are 5 - 1/4", smooth glass. Sheet metal bodies have original red paint that is faded and peeling in places. These lamps are unique, manufacturer unknown. Condition: (Good). A full-scale tradeshow exhibit model, featuring a novel railroad crossing apparatus. Made by the S-W Supply Company of Girard, Kansas. Made entirely of welded sheet steel and wired for four warning lights. Warning light assemblies are missing and not included with this lot. Rotating block letters "STOP" pivot 90 degrees from invisible position to visible position as train approaches and lights flash. Marquee is standard railroad crossbuck on top of unit body. Included with this sale are a three-ring binder with numerous photographs, patent drawings, and claims, as well as letter exchanges between the S-W Supply Company and the Santa Fe Railway, and additionally, a brass-handled, plywood box 27 - 1/2" wide x 31 - 1/2" tall x 16 - 1/2" deep, with "The SLAWSON AUTOMATIC RAILROAD CROSSING SIGNAL" nicely painted in silver on the front. Unit measures approximately 117" tall x 32" wide x 26" deep when fully assembled. Silver paint shows some fading and minor rust in some spots. A unique railroad crossing warning apparatus that apparently only ever made it to the prototype stage for a trade show.
